01 Capacity

Doubling output is a module, not a plant

The first section of the line is designed for 3,000 kg/h while the second currently operates at 1,500 kg/h. Additional capacity therefore means adding modules to the existing line rather than building a new facility, which changes both the capex profile and the time to revenue.

02 Second material stream

HDPE bottle on the same line

The same line processes HDPE bottle with a partially inverted process. Estimated generation in Venezuela is similar to that of PET, while purchase competition is lower because less installed capacity exists for that polymer.

03 Regulated European demand

The customer's obligation, not the customer's preference

European recycled-content requirements are legal obligations on the converter, which makes the demand curve for traceable recyclate a function of compliance rather than sentiment.

  1. 2025

    The Single-Use Plastics Directive requires 25 % recycled content in PET beverage bottles.

  2. 2030

    The same directive raises the requirement to 30 % in all plastic beverage bottles.

  3. 12 August 2026

    Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) becomes applicable, extending quotas to the rest of plastic packaging.

  4. 2040

    PPWR raises the requirement to 65 %.

04 Regulatory position at origin

The only Latin American country without EPR legislation

Venezuela is the only country in Latin America without extended producer responsibility legislation. The group participates in the draft resolution and is positioning itself as the reference operator for the moment it enters into force, when compliance will require installed industrial capacity that currently has few alternatives.

Product differential

Naturally clear flake

Venezuelan clear bottle for carbonated soft drinks and water is produced without colour additives, so the resulting flake is 100 % natural transparent. Flake from many other origins carries a bluish tint that limits the applications it can serve.

Natural transparent flake is what food-grade and sheet markets require, and those are the markets that pay best. The differential is in the feedstock, and it is not something a competitor can add through processing.
